Motherwort

Motherwort (Leonurus cardiaca) is like a warm hug. Well-known as a gentle heart tonic, able to strengthen without overexerting; lowering Blood Pressure, and calming heart palpitations. A mild nervine sedative as well, Motherwort is specifically indicated for heart/cardiovascular conditions accompanied by nervous system tension and/or high stress. Also known for its strong affinity for the female reproductive system, Motherwort is a reliable remedy for restoring menstrual cycle regularity and reducing discomfort related to menstruation and is used to ease common menopausal symptoms with its cooling, calming, and relaxation.
 
It has been widely used to regulate menses and to treat associated conditions. It was also considered a helpful diuretic and heart-strengthening herb to alleviate heart palpitations associated with anxiety attacks.
